1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of PocketMusala, including the mobile apps, website, Developer Platform, APIs, widgets, TV/display surfaces, content, communications, and related services. By using PocketMusala, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
If you use PocketMusala on behalf of a mosque, community, merchant, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for that entity and to manage the information, credentials, content, and integrations you create.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use PocketMusala.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account, including actions by people you authorize to use your device, community role, mosque admin role, API key, widget token, or display token.
- You may not impersonate another person or organization, create misleading accounts, claim a mosque or community you are not authorized to represent, or misrepresent your affiliation.
- If you are under the age required to consent to online services in your location, you may use PocketMusala only with appropriate parent or guardian consent and only where the service permits that use.
- Where parental controls or guardian features are available, guardians and children must use those features truthfully and may not bypass safety restrictions.
3. Privacy and data protection
Privacy is a core part of PocketMusala. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and what controls you have. You agree that PocketMusala may process information as described in the Privacy Policy.
You may not use PocketMusala to collect, scrape, expose, sell, share, or misuse another person's personal information. You may not post doxxing content, private addresses, account credentials, financial data, private contact details, or other sensitive information without authorization.
4. User and community content
You keep ownership of content you submit to PocketMusala. You grant PocketMusala a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, transmit, format, moderate, translate, create technical derivatives of, and otherwise use your content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the service.
This license includes the right to display content according to your selected visibility settings, to make public content available through public web, widget, share, search, or display surfaces, and to process content through moderation, safety, and infrastructure providers.
You are responsible for your content. You represent that you have the rights needed to post it and that it does not violate law, these terms, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, mosque/community rules, or platform policies.
Content visibility controls are important, but no online sharing control is perfect. Other users may capture, copy, report, quote, or preserve content they can access. PocketMusala screenshot protections reduce some capture risks on supported surfaces, but they cannot guarantee that content will never be captured.
5. Community conduct and prohibited use
You may not use PocketMusala to:
- Harass, threaten, abuse, exploit, stalk, or intimidate another person or community.
- Post hate, credible threats, sexual harassment, child-safety risk, scam/spam content, doxxing, extremist praise or recruitment, malicious links, or unlawful material.
- Interfere with mosque operations, impersonate mosque leadership, publish false official information, or misuse community administrator privileges.
- Bypass privacy settings, parental controls, screenshot protections, moderation restrictions, rate limits, account bans, API scopes, payment gates, or security controls.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, crawl, overload, attack, probe, or disrupt PocketMusala systems except where expressly permitted by a written security program or written permission.
- Upload malware, malicious files, credential stealers, unauthorized tracking code, or content intended to compromise devices or accounts.
- Use PocketMusala for unlawful commerce, fraudulent fundraising, deceptive promotions, or transactions that violate applicable laws or platform rules.
PocketMusala may remove content, reduce visibility, restrict accounts, disable features, revoke credentials, or preserve evidence when we believe a violation, safety risk, legal risk, or abuse pattern exists.
6. Mosques, communities, merchants, and Developer Platform
Mosque and community management
If you manage a mosque, community, merchant profile, event, product, announcement, prayer schedule, or public profile, you are responsible for accuracy, authorization, and lawful publication of that information. Public contact fields, addresses, prayer times, business hours, event details, and profile media should be published only when you have authority to share them.
Developer credentials
Developer Platform API keys, widget tokens, display tokens, and related credentials are sensitive. Keep them private, rotate or revoke them if compromised, and use them only for the mosque or integration scope granted. You may not sell, share, publish, embed raw API keys in public clients, or use credentials to access data or write fields outside their approved scope.
Integrations
External systems may write only the fields and resources explicitly allowed by the API version and credential scope. Developer API access does not allow changing mosque ownership, administrators, verification status, moderation state, payment settings, entitlement, user identity, official notification authority, or destructive lifecycle actions unless a future written contract explicitly grants that scope.
7. Prayer tools and religious content
PocketMusala provides prayer times, Qibla, mosque profiles, Islamic content, community updates, and related tools for convenience. These features may depend on device settings, location permissions, mosque-submitted data, calculation methods, time zones, third-party data, or user/admin input.
PocketMusala is not a religious authority. You should verify prayer times, iqamah times, event details, donation details, and religious or legal questions with your local mosque, qualified scholars, or other trusted sources when accuracy is important.
8. Purchases, subscriptions, and paid features
PocketMusala may offer paid features, subscriptions, entitlements, or marketplace-related functionality. Purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are also governed by the applicable store terms. RevenueCat or similar providers may process entitlement state so the app can unlock paid features.
Unless otherwise stated in the purchase flow or required by law, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund handling for app-store purchases are controlled by the relevant app store. You are responsible for managing subscriptions through the store account used to purchase them.
9. Third-party services and links
PocketMusala may integrate with third-party services for maps, address search, sign-in, app stores, subscriptions, analytics, crash reporting, moderation, AI parsing, search, notifications, contact forms, GIFs, Islamic content, and developer infrastructure. Their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
PocketMusala may link to mosque websites, merchant websites, donation pages, social profiles, maps, or other third-party destinations. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, practices, or transactions.
10. Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using PocketMusala at any time and may request account deletion through available app controls. Some records may remain where required or permitted for security, legal, audit, backup, payment, dispute, or abuse-prevention reasons.
We may suspend, limit, or terminate your account, content, community access, developer credentials, or use of the service if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for users or communities, infringed rights, caused operational harm, or used the service unlawfully.
11. PocketMusala rights
PocketMusala, including its app, website, designs, logos, software, APIs, documentation, text, graphics, trademarks, and other materials, is owned by PocketMusala or its licensors. These terms do not give you ownership of PocketMusala intellectual property.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works of PocketMusala except as expressly allowed by the service, public documentation, an applicable open-source license, or written permission.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
PocketMusala is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PocketMusala will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, use, or business opportunity, even if we were advised that such damages might occur.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
13. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PocketMusala and its team from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your content, your integrations, your violation of these terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as PocketMusala changes. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by law or through the service. Your continued use of PocketMusala after updated terms become effective means you accept the updated terms.
15. Contact
For questions about these terms, community safety, account access, privacy, or developer access, contact PocketMusala through the public contact form or community channels linked from the website.
